Executive Board

(609) 364-4524

Honored to  have been elected as President of the Court Club in May of 2011, Kelley served as Membership chair from 2006 thru 2011.  A 1994 graduate of the Rutgers College of Pharmacy, he has been a men’s basketball season ticket holder since 1989.  Prior to attending Rutgers, Brian was born and raised in Millville, NJ and graduated from Millville High School in 1988.

Upon graduation, Brian retained employment as a retail pharmacist with Thrift Drug Company, and is now employed by Rite Aid in southern New Jersey.  On a more personal level, Kelley is a bit of a music buff, centering mostly around his love for the heavy metal genre.  Queensryche, Dream Theater, Kings X and all those 80’s “hair bands” can be counted among his favorites.  His professional sports rooting interests are the San Diego Padres in MLB, and the San Diego Chargers in the NFL.  Additionally, Brian has been a Rutgers football season ticket holder since the late 90’s.

Kelley’s first Rutgers basketball game was the 1989 Atlantic 10 final at the RAC versus Penn State, courtesy of tickets won in a dorm raffle at Metzger Hall on Busch Campus.  Over the years, his passion for all things Rutgers basketball has grown and taken many forms.  He is currently a ScarletNation.com message board Administrator, a position he has held for over a decade.  In addition to the daily duties on the boards, Brian has written and contributed to countless feature team articles and game previews.  Kelley has also contributed national and local media coverage of the Scarlet Knights, having collaborated on pieces published by the Associated Press, USA Today, Bloomberg.com, Reuters, NJ.comESPN.com, Newark Star Ledger, Asbury Park Press, Courier News and Post, Home News Tribune, multiple dedicated blogs and other online and print news outlets.

Brian and his lovely wife Janet, married in April, 2009 following a proposal at half time of a sold out RAC versus North Carolina in 2007, have not missed a road Rutgers basketball game in 11 consecutive seasons…dating back to Gary Waters’ tenure “On The Banks”.  It’s a streak they hope will continue into 2014 and beyond…

Kelley looks forward to continuing the proud tradition of the Court Club,  unquestionably recalling the customs of the past while moving the group forward onto exciting new ground,  spurred on by the passion and loyalty of new Head Coach Eddie Jordan and his staff, and his allegiance to all things Rutgers Basketball.

LOU NORDONE, 1st Vice President

I grew up in MT. Vernon, NY., and in 1968 moved to New Jersey only about 1&1/2 miles from Rutgers Stadium.  Within a short time I changed my alliance from that Midwest Catholic school to Rutgers. But I still have stayed strong to the Yankees, Giants, Knicks and Rangers. I started going to  both Rutgers Football and Men and Women’s Basketball games. Since the late 80′s, I became a season ticket holder of both Football and Men’s bb. At the present time, I have the honor of serving on both the Rutgers Court Club and Touchdown Club executive boards. One of the fun things I do for both Clubs is sell 50/50′s. I sure have gotten to met a whole lot of great Rutgers fans that way. For the past 19 years, I have also been given the honor of helping out on the sidelines of Rutgers Football games. I my spare time I’m a school Crossing Guard in Manville, and for the past 10 year I can be found working in the Press Box of the Somerset Patriots Baseball team. On a personal note, my “Beautiful” wife JoAnne and I have been married 33 years. We have 2 great children and 2 fun to be with grandchildren.  So as you can see, I’m living the good life. GO RU !!!! See ya at the games!

DAN MORRIS, Treasurer

Daniel has been associated with the Rutgers Court Club about ten years, initially served on the Board as the Ad Journal Chairperson, and now begins his third year as Treasurer. However his love for Rutgers basketball started way before the Court Club; it began in the mid seventies, and reached its peak with Sellers, Dabney, Jordan, Copeland, Bailey!  At times I think back, did I attend more Rutgers basketball games, home and away, then I did college classes? Quincy Douby brought the thrill back, and now we will watch Coach Rice take Rutgers basketball to a level never seen before.

Dan received his Bachelors  Degree from Rider University, and his Masters Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson. So why Rutgers? He grew up minutes away in Somerset, Franklin Township, and was able to walk to the football stadium and to the Barn (basketball arena prior to the RAC).  So why not!

Dan has been a season ticket holder for over twenty years. The thrill of sitting behind the Rutgers bench sometimes exceeds the game on the court.  He still resides in Somerset with his son Andrew and daughter Laryn.  After his Masters he worked for Peat Marwick, a Big Eight Accounting firm (Big Eight to the Big East) , he moved on to E & B Marine in Edison as Controller and then started his own company twenty years ago, partners in American Jewelry Supply. He made sure his partner was a Rutgers graduate, and former captain of the Rutgers lacrosse team.  They sell tools and equipment to jewelry manufacturers, refiners, assayers, retailers, etc. When he isn’t working, Dan enjoys Rutgers basketball. When he is working, you still find him enjoying RU basketball.  In the off season you might find him playing softball, or poker, traveling or keeping busy with many projects. You never know when he might be in Europe, Vegas or Atlantic City.

Sean received his Bachelors of Science degree from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 1999 and his Masters of Public Administration from Rutgers University in 2006. He currently works for the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development as a Business Representative.

Sean has been involved in Rutgers Basketball since a very young age. He was a ballboy for three years which included the 1989 Atlantic 10 Championship game win over Penn State. He can be seen at most games with his Father, John, who is an RU alum, member of the Board of Trustees, and past RAA President. They are season ticket holders to both Rutgers basketball and football. JEFF DEUBERT, Graphic Design

Jeff Deubert, longtime fan of RU men’s basketball and football, is a fresh new face within the Rutgers Court Club. After graduating high school in 1995 (Ridgewood, NJ) and spending his first 5 semesters of college as a Mason Gross and a Rutgers College student, Jeff, a life-long New Jersey resident, decided it was time for a significant change of atmosphere, choosing to transfer and enroll at the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale. For 3-plus years he called Plantation, Florida home. And although he left the Banks of the Ol’ Raritan for sunny South Florida, his love for RU sports never diminished as he continued his passionate support of both teams from over 1,200 miles away.

Upon graduating from AIFL with a degree in Graphic Design (Dec. 2000), Jeff took his first job as an entry-level designer at a small firm located in Deerfield Beach, FL. It was during that time that he met his future wife Beth. After dating for several months they decided to relocate back to the Northeast, where Beth was able to secure a job transfer to Mt. Laurel, NJ. 3 years later Jeff married Beth, and in 2008 they had their first child together, a son named Justin. 3 years after that in June of 2011 they welcomed their newest addition to the family, a baby girl named Jocelyn. Jeff and his family currently reside in rural Mullica Hill, NJ.

Over the past several years Jeff has worked for a variety of companies, including industry giants such as Mattel Toys (Package Design Division), Kee Action Sports (a leader in the Paintball industry), and Modell’s Sporting Goods (Marketing Division). Now a 10-year veteran within the world of print design, he is currently one of the lead designers for an advertising agency ( HYPERLINK “http://www.Masterminds1.com” \t “_blank” www.Masterminds1.com) specializing in the travel & leisure industry. Jeff is able to combine his love of print design with his passion for RU sports and apply them to the various Rutgers-related freelance opportunities that emerge on occasion outside of his regular employment. One of his more recent assignments dealt with the redesign of the Rutgers Court Club logo, a project that was challenging as well as self-gratifying on many levels.

Jeff looks forward to the future of Rutgers basketball, as well as his potentially increased involvement in the many functions, activities and efforts of the Rutgers Court Club as it enters a new era in representing RU hoops as the official “Team Behind The Team”.
